This Sunday - the final broadcast

“The potential for corruption is staggering.”
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., speaking of the relationship between the fossil fuel industry (gas, oil, coal) and elected government officials

Earlier this month, I notified FreshMail readers of the 6 dates and times that WVIA-TV would broadcast the speech given by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. at Bucknell University on February 2nd. Due to a fire, not all 6 broadcasts were possible.

WVIA-TV is back on the air, and 12 noon this Sunday, February 28th will be your final opportunity to watch this presentation. I encourage you to do so.

Kennedy’s speech is entitled Globalization and the Green Economy: A New Vision for American Leadership and Strength. Unwavering in his belief in true democracy and a free market economy, I found the speech to be a balance of inspiration and hope tethered by sobering truth, especially in light of what is happening here in the land of the Marcellus Shale.

"Nature is the infrastructure of our community, and if we want to protect our future and the dignity, enrichment and prosperity of our children, we've got to start by protecting our infrastructure," he said. "We need to change it so that companies get rich by getting customers to conserve energy."

Kennedy estimated it would cost about $1 trillion less than the Iraq War has cost to build a new energy grid that could eliminate our dependance on oil, coal and natural gas.

Please tune in on Sunday, and please forward this message to your family and friends and invite them to do the same. The strategies Kennedy sets forth have the power to change the world and to offer hope and a healthier future to our children and grandchildren.
